Marco Testori achieved his diplomas in organ, organ composition and cello at the  Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan. After attending courses with Johannes Goritzki, Michael Flaksman and Enrico Bronzi he began to study early music in depth at the Schola Cantorum Basilensis with Christophe Coin. He then began to collaborate with several ensembles such as: I Barocchisti, Ensemble Dolce e Tempesta, Ensemble Musica Alchemica, Atalante Fugiens, La Divina Armonia, Il Suonar Parlante, Ensemble 1700,  with which he has recorded for labels such as Decca, Opus 111, Naxos, Sony, Naïve. From 1994 to 2004 he was principal cellist of the ensemble Il Giardino Armonico, with which he took part in the most important international festivals. With Il Giardino Armonico he has recorded for Teldec. He has recorded concertos for cello and strings by Nicola Fiorenza with the ensemble Dolce & Tempesta (Fuga Libera). He has also recorded sonatas by the virtuoso Carlo Graziani and composers of the Mannheim  school for Passacaille. His latest CDs with the fortepianist Costantino Mastroprimiano,  released for Brilliant Classics, include sonatas by Moscheles, Ries and Hummel and the entire sonatas and variations by L. van Beethoven. He regularly holds masterclasses and  summer courses in baroque cello and classical chamber music. Since 2013 he is  Professor of Baroque Cello at Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.
